Monster by Walter Dean Myers
This book is about a boy named Steve Harmon who is writing what is going on in his life into a movie. He is on trial for murder and he’s only 16 years old when he goes to jail. I would recommend this book because it tells you what happens when you make bad choices.

Brain Camp by Susan Kim & Laurence Klavan
This story is about two high school kids who were not accepted to the college they wanted to go to, so they were invited to go to a special camp. The camp had kids just like them. One of the kids is Jenna and she’s known as a nerd. The other is Lucas who is known as a gangster with bad grades. I would recommend this book if you like comic books and interesting stories. I thought this book was funny and interesting.

Football: How it Works by Agnieszka Biskup
Football—a sport that requires a lot of math and science. Not just the score, but much, much more. Football players need to be strong, but not always. You need force and friction. You need protection, or else you could get brain-damage, knee injuries, torn ligaments, and more. So next time you play football, remember, play with a mind of winning, math, and science. I would recommend this book because football has nerdy points to it, so nerds could be as good as the jocks!

The Joshua Files: The Invisible City by M.G. Harris
This book starts when Josh comes home from school. He saw something wrong. His mom was crying. He asked his mom what was wrong and she told him that his dad died. Josh couldn’t bear it so he searched for anything that could help him find his dad. I recommend this book for anyone that likes adventure or mystery.

Keeper by Kathi Appelt
There was a 10 year-old girl named Keeper. Her mother was a mermaid who swam away when Keeper was just three. So when a blue moon comes out, all the mermaids gather at a sandbar. That’s just where Keeper is headed with a seagull named Captain and a dog named B.D. (short for Best Dog). I think this would be a good book for people who like fiction.

The Clique by Lisi Harrison
Clair Lyon’s dad needs to find a new home, so in the meantime she stays in the guest-house of Massie Block and her parents. Massie is a drama queen and thinks she is better than everyone. Clair is getting bullied—by who? Read the book. Clair teaches Massie a lesson. By doing that, Massie looses her friends, Alicia, Kirsten, and Dylan. Read the book to know what’s the turn on Clair. I would recommend this book because people, mostly girls, will lean a lot from cliques.

I Know What You Did Last Summer by Lois Duncan
Julie James receives a letter from someone she doesn’t know. It’s shocking to her, what this person wrote. Last Fourth of July, there was a beach party. So Julie and her friends Barry, Ray and Helen were drinking and driving. Barry went crazy and the driver hit a boy. They hid the boy’s body, but someone was watching them. So this Fourth of July, Julie got a letter that said, “I know what you did last summer!” So now, this summer, the person that is messing with ulie, Barry, Helen, and Ray—what will he do? Read the boo to find out. I recommend this book for 9-12 graders because if you ever decide to drink and drive, it could cost you.
